Thane: Four students of a school in Mumbai's Thane have fallen ill due to food poisoning. The incident took place in the Dhabade area of the Bhiwandi area. The municipal health officials reported this on Saturday. Dr Dutta Kole of Shri Chhatrapati Maharaj General Hospital said that four children of Shraddha Ashram School complained of uneasiness after eating food and were admitted to the hospital.
He said that on Friday also, about 5 to 6 students of the same ashram school had to undergo treatment due to the complaint of food poisoning. Meanwhile, Atul Badange, secretary of the NGP, which runs an ashram school in Shirole, said it was a case of sunburn and lack of water in the body and not food poisoning.
He claimed that the children have been falling ill since March 29 and a girl also died of sunburn and lack of water in her body. He said a medical team has been deployed at the Ashram School for medical examination. Earlier, on the occasion of 'Bihar Diwas' in Patna, 17 children from Aurangabad fell ill after eating food being served at the food stall. All the children were sent to PMCH Hospital. Doctors said that after eating bad food, the children got food poisoning and dehydration.
