Beijing: The rift in US-China relations is increasing. According to AFP, China has issued an order to close the US Consulate in Chengdu. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province of southwestern China. Earlier, the US had issued an order to close the Houston-based Consulate in China.

The US had asked China to close its consulate in Houston on the security issue. For this, only 48 hours was given. After this, a video was revealed in which smoke was seen rising from the consulate. It was revealed in the video that some papers have been burnt. US President Donald Trump said that China has burnt the necessary documents. Further embassies may be closed.

After this action by the US, China reacted strongly and said that they can think about closing many US centres in their country. Subsequently, the Chinese media claimed that China could soon announce the closure of the American Consulate in Wuhan. It has also been started from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province of southwestern China. It is believed that an order can be issued to close more American consulates in Beijing.
