New Delhi: India's star women's badminton player PV Sindhu made her debut with a win at the China Open. Sindhu entered the second round by defeating China's Li Shwre in the first round. PV Sindhu, who won the world championship as well as a worldwide name for the country, defeated Olympic champion Lee Shvre 21-18,21-12. Olympic silver medalist winner Sindhu did not sweat much to defeat world number 20 Li Shuerui.
This is Sindhu's fourth win against Li Shuerui while she has lost in three matches. Sindhu started with a 2–0 lead in the first game, however Lee then rebounded and narrowed the gap by scoring consecutive points. By the break time of the first game, Sindhu was ahead 10-9 only. There was a tough fight between the two and Sindhu won the first game 21-18.
In the second game, Lee tried to put pressure on Sindhu by gaining the lead in the beginning. At one time, she had a 6-3 lead with Lee. However, after this, Sindhu made a change in strategy, forcing Lee to play cross-court and scored on the net. Lee then became very tired and Sindhu won 21-12.
