Beijing: From April 16 to 18, China plans to close the airspace north of Taiwan, according to four sources with knowledge of the situation. This move may cause delays for flights in the area.

Requests for comment from the foreign ministries of China and Taiwan were not immediately fulfilled.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, four officials outside of China who spoke to Reuters on the condition of anonymity said the ban would disrupt Taiwan's northern flight information region (FIR) and that they were unaware of the rationale behind the restrictions.
