World's number one female tennis player Wang Qiang, China's top female player, is also in line to withdraw its name from Grand Slam US Open tournament and other tournaments in the US, after Australia's Ashley Barty's pulled off due to corona fear. The US Open is scheduled to be held in New York from August 31 to September 13.

Wang, ranked 29th in the world rankings, reported on China's Twitter Weibo to withdraw from the US Open on its account. Wang said that she and her team have decided to withdraw from the Western and Southern Open and the US Open.

She said that it is going to be difficult for her to travel to America under the circumstances arising out of Covid. The Western and Southern Open will be held in New York from August 20 to 28 this time. Earlier this tournament is going to be held in Cincinnati.
