The cinema halls closed in March in the COVID-19 crisis reopened on Thursday. Paytm, India's largest e-wallet company, said on Thursday that it is giving movie watchers the experience of watching a digital, contactless and secure cinema. Paytm said in a statement that the company is working closely with all cinema hall management to ensure that the hall complex is secure.
Paytm is offering a free movie ticket on the purchase of a ticket in partnership with PVR Cinema. However, it is a limited period offer. The company said it is empowering the audience with secure and contactless measures. It is bringing confidence to the audience to bring to the cinema halls through innovative features like the Mini App Store. The Mini App Store can be used to book a cab or hire a two-wheeler. Goods can be purchased using Paytm wallet, Paytm UPI, card at food counters.
Social distance seat layout is being shown on Paytm's app and portal. In addition, thermal screening, contactless security test, availability of hand sanitizer and daily template cheques for employees are being reported in the cinema halls. The company said the audience will not have to be lined up in front of box-office, entry gate, food counters. Paytm spokesperson said, "This is an important step to bring the normal level and bounceback the economy. The reopening of the cinema halls will help millions of multiplexes and single screen staff to regain their livelihood. We want to ensure that the entire experience of the audience is safe. ''
