Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel who was recently appointed as an observer by the Congress party for Assam ahead of the assembly elections has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response on allegations of an active cow syndicate in Assam.
Baghel further alleged that many other syndicates in Assam are being provided protection by the state government. He took to Twitter and wrote, “PM Sir, Assam is keenly waiting for you to respond to @Manekagandhibjp ji’s remark regarding the Cow Syndicate being run by @sarbanandsonwal govt." He further added, “BTW, there are many other syndicates protected by @BJP4Assam govt. against your slogan of ‘Na Khaunga Na Khane Dunga."
on February 17, Baghel had told reporters strong syndicates are also engaged in the supply of coal, stones, bamboo, betel leaves, nuts and even fish. He further said that BJP MP Maneka Gandhi had reportedly written to the Assam government over its treatment of cows.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several oil and gas projects, inaugurated an engineering college and laid the foundation stone of another in Assam on Monday. This is his third visit to the poll-bound state within a month.
