Raipur: In the Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh, CM Bhupesh Baghel has taken cognizance of the rape charges levelled against the former collector by the woman. Taking the matter seriously, he has ordered the Chief Secretary to suspend the concerned officer and conduct an inquiry with a high-level team.

CM Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Secretary R.P. has been ordered to suspend the present Director of Land Records and the then Collector, JP Pathak should be investigated at the earliest. On May 15 in Janjgir Champa, the woman accused former Collector JP Pathak of rape. An FIR was lodged in the city police station on the complaint of the woman.

The woman had said in her complaint that the then collector had called her to the restroom of the chamber and raped her. The woman met her in connection with the work of the NGO. The officer has been accused by the woman. He has been transferred to Raipur recently. At present the case is under investigation against the Collector, CM Bhupesh Baghel says that if found guilty, strict legal action will be taken against the Collector.
