Dehradun: Newly elected Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday met former Chief Minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat. Harish Rawat did not attend the swearing-in ceremony of the state CM after receiving the invitation. Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday met the Congress leader at his residence on Old Mussoorie Road in Dehradun. Dhami also spoke of the health condition of the former Chief Minister.
Earlier, no opposition leader from all over the Congress, including Harish Rawat, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister. Subsequently, Harish Rawat had posted on Facebook stating that he was not called with respect. If called with honour, he would definitely have gone to the programme. Tagging CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, former CM Harish Rawat shared a post on Facebook. He wrote that there have been comments about the absence of Congress at the CM's swearing-in ceremony, which are natural. We had no intention of distancing ourselves from the swearing-in ceremony. He also congratulated on Facebook and mentioned about watching the entire swearing-in ceremony on his mobile phone.
He wrote that the invitation letter sent to him was not even indicated by car parking and seating place. That too at a time when the top ruling class of the country was present at the ceremony. In such a situation, if he had reached without a pre-determined place and without car parking, entrance pass, etc., then the situation could have been uncomfortable. He wrote that he decided not to go to the ceremony after much thought.
