Chief Minister Jairam Thakur is likely to announce the Water Management Board in its third budget session. Besides, the survey work for constructing water clusters in Dharamshala, Manali, Solan and Dalhousie on the lines of Shimla is almost complete. The Jairam government may also announce the creation of a water management board on the lines of Delhi, the capital of India. Apart from this, the board can have the responsibility of water management and sewage system in Himachal's urban areas. Presently, the water management company is functioning under the jurisdiction of Shimla Municipal Corporation, which is catering to water supply and sewage in Shimla city.

Apart from this, now the Jairam government has planned to create a water management board in the first phase, now on the lines of Shimla in Dharamshala, Mandi, Kullu, Manali, Dalhousie, Solan urban bodies. The survey work for this has been completed. From the point of view of tourism, water board water supply and sewage system can be developed in the cities where there is more traffic.

For your information, let us tell you that the water system will be strengthened keeping in mind the population of 50 to 100 years. Meanwhile, Director of Urban Development Department Ramkumar Gautam said that the survey work in Dharamshala has been completed. Plans are being made to improve water management and sewage system in urban bodies. Along with this, after Shimla, water supply and sewage line will be expanded in Dharamsala and five other cities after Shimla.
