New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal praised the fire department and disaster management personnel for their quick response in putting out the fire that erupted in the Azad Market area of the national capital early Saturday morning.

The Chief Minister also wished the persons who were injured in the fire a speedy recovery.

"The tragic news of the fire was heard early in the morning. Thank God there were no loss of life The fire department and disaster management professionals handled the situation admirably "Kejriwal took to Twitter to express his thoughts. "I wish all those injured in this disaster a swift recovery," he added.

As per the fire department officials, it is known that five people were injured in a large fire that erupted in the Azad Market neighbourhood early today, destroying several shops. All of the injured have been accounted for and are in good health.

Twenty fire tenders were rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control, fire department officials said. The main building where the fire originated collapsed, necessitating the use of disaster management teams, including JCBs, to remove the debris. According to the fire department, legal action is being taken against the shop.
