New Delhi: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has lashed out at the state police for registering an FIR against BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga for criticizing Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The High Court has warned the Punjab Police that the police should not violate the guidelines given by the Supreme Court and give notice to the accused before taking action. Let us inform that on Friday (April 8, 2022), while the court was thrashing the Punjab Police, on the other hand, the Punjab Police was registering a case against another BJP leader Naveen Jindal.

In fact, BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga had filed a petition in the High Court regarding the action of Punjab Police and said that an FIR has been registered in Mohali, Punjab by distorting his statements. The court heard this petition on Friday and strongly reprimanded the Punjab Police. The court said that the Punjab Police should keep in mind the guidelines of the Supreme Court and give notice to the accused before taking action. In this case, the Punjab Police has sought time from the court to present the evidence. The next hearing of the matter will be on April 20.  Let us inform that on Saturday (2 April 2022), the Punjab Police reached the residence of BJP leader and party spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga in Delhi. However, Bagga was not found there as he was in Lucknow.

He told that the Punjab Police had reached his house without any information. Regarding this, Bagga informed the Delhi Police about the action of Punjab Police. He tweeted and wrote, 'Punjab police car number PB65AK1594 reached my house to arrest me without informing the local police. Now they are tracking my friends' addresses and going to their homes. Till now there is no information of FIR, police station, sections against me against me. In his tweet, Bagga has tagged the DCP of West Delhi along with Delhi Police. Let us tell you that after Kejriwal's senseless statement about the film 'The Kashmir Files', a film on the horrific massacre of Kashmiri Hindus, Bagga had put up a poster of Kashmir Files at the AAP headquarters in front of Kejriwal. Along with this, a complaint was lodged against him with the Patiala Police. However, the district superintendent of police had categorically denied this.
