Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 14405 schemes to be built at a cost of 15,192 crore. According to the information, 747 bridges and 59 thousand km of roads will be constructed under the Chief Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana. During this, CM Nitish Kumar said, 'Road inauguration and foundation laying program is being done at a cost of 15192 crore. For this, I congratulate the Minister, Secretary and Engineers.'

In 2000, the Prime Minister started the Village Road Construction Scheme in this country. The central agency was given the opportunity to work. But if we are capable then what is the need to give work to the central agency. Eventually it was accepted and we started work. CM Nitish Kumar said, 'We started the work by restructuring the Rural Works Department, separate Rural Development Works Department, separate Panchayati Raj Department, separate departments.'

In rural areas and in 11 districts which were more backward, rather than Naxalite affected, the standard was reduced in those places. So that the road can reach the village. Nitish Kumar said that there was a provision for road construction in villages with a population of less than 500 to 1000. In Naxalite affected areas where 250 people live. Road construction work has been started through the introduction of Gram Sampark Yojana.
