New Delhi: Pushkar Singh Dhami, who arrived in the capital Delhi for the first time since becoming the CM of Uttarakhand, today met PM Modi at his residence. Earlier on Friday, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh had met Koshyari. The courtesy call was held at maharashtra sadan in the capital.

He will also reportedly meet President Ram Nath Kovind. He will then meet Dhami Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today. CM Dhami is also scheduled to meet other Union ministers thereafter. Dhami was sworn in as the 11th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on July 4. Two-time MLA has replaced Tirath Singh Rawat from Khatima seat in Udham Singh Nagar district. Rawat was to get membership of the assembly within six months after becoming CM. Seeing that it was not possible, Rawat had to resign from the post so that there was no constitutional crisis in the state.

Assembly elections are due in Uttarakhand next year and Dhami now has less than 10 months left. In such a situation, his visit is considered extremely important. He may also discuss election preparations and future strategy with senior party leaders.
