Guwahati: Regarding the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the promise made to the public has been fulfilled and we have got the Ram temple constructed by removing Babur's encroachment. CM Sarma said that the resolution taken to build the Ram temple is going to be fulfilled today. He said that people used to think that communal conflict would flare up if the Ram temple was built, but it did not happen, rather Hindu-Muslim brotherhood has increased.
Speaking at a program in Tripura, CM Sarma said, 'We had taken a pledge that if our government comes, we will build a Ram temple at Ramjanmabhoomi, people were not sure about this. Some people thought that if Ram goes to build the temple, there will be communal tension between Hindus and Muslims, but look at Modi ji, Ram temple is also being built and there is no decrease in the brotherhood of Hindu-Muslims. Ram temple is also being built and the country is also moving in the direction of progress. We had done penance for 500 years, the place where Ram was born, Babur had occupied it. Today we removed Babar and started the construction of the grand temple of Ram.
Let us tell you that 50 percent work of the grand Ram temple being built in Ayodhya has been completed. Last year, a member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Trust had told that 50 percent work of the temple has been completed and by January 2024, the Ram temple will be opened for the general public. He had also told that idols of Lord Rama and other deities would also be installed in the temple. Along with this, it was also said that the construction work of the temple is going on very fast and by December the ground floor of the temple will also be ready.
