Bhopal: There is a stir across the country over the new agricultural law these days. For the past many days, the farmers are protesting in Delhi against the new agricultural law. Several opposition parties are also supporting the farmers. Now MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has once again termed the agriculture law as farmer-friendly. He has given an example of Hoshangabad district.

In a tweet, he wrote, "Protecting the interests of the farmers is the goal of the new agricultural law. I am happy to report that the farmers of Hoshangabad have got justice within 24 hours because of this law. Delhi Company Fortune Rice Ltd. had contracted the paddy procurement at a high price of the market from the farmers of Hoshangabad on 3rd June and was also being procured continuously. But when the price of Paddy was Rs. 3, 000 per quintal, the company stopped buying and completely abolished the contact with the farmers." He further said in the tweet, "The district administration acted promptly on receipt of the said case. The court departmental magistrate, Pipariya, issued a summons and directed the authorised representative of Fortune Rice Limited to submit the reply within 24 hours."

CM Shivraj expressed his happiness and said, "on the summons issued by the SDM court, the director of the company, Shri Ajay Bhalotia, was present and he accepted the purchase of Paddy before the consortium board at the highest rate of 9th December. I am happy that many farmers got justice." The farmers' agitation has been going on for quite some time and they are not lagging behind their demands.
