Lucknow: The second phase of Ujjwala Yojana has begun in Uttar Pradesh from today. CM Yogi Adityanath formally launched the scheme at an event. CM Yogi also interacted with the beneficiaries during the event. In the second phase of the scheme, the Yogi government will provide 20 lakh new LPG connections.
It may be recalled that earlier on August 10, PM Narendra Modi had launched Ujjwala 2.0 across the country. CM Yogi congratulated the beneficiaries while talking to them. The beneficiaries told yogi how they had to cook with difficulties earlier due to lack of gas connection. The beneficiaries also explained the difficulties faced by them while cooking with wood. Yogi also addressed a press conference after the event.
He said Uttar Pradesh benefited the most in the first phase of Ujjwala Yojana. Under this, 1.47 crore households in the state got free LPG connections. There can be no better example of women's empowerment. CM Yogi said free LPG connections are being provided to 20 lakh sisters in 10 districts of the state identified under the second phase of Ujjwala Yojana.
