Bijnor: In a splendid event that unfolded on a Saturday (July 22) morning in Bijnor, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the 'Vriksharopan Jan Abhiyan 2023,' a grand initiative aimed at preserving the environment and fostering a greener future for the state. The inauguration took place along the serene banks of the holy Ganga, where a sapling of the revered 'Kalpavriksha' was carefully planted.
A spectacle of excitement and enthusiasm, the state-wide plantation drive saw the Chief Minister personally engaging with the schoolchildren, distributing saplings with an encouraging smile. His impassioned call to every citizen echoed in the air, urging them to embrace the mission of planting saplings extensively, for it is through such efforts that the environment can be safeguarded for generations to come.
Before the commencement of this ambitious campaign, the Chief Minister marked another significant milestone by laying the foundation stone of the Government Sanskrit Inter College at Vidur Kuti. The momentous occasion was also graced with the inauguration and foundation-laying of various development projects, collectively valued at an impressive Rs 445 crore.
Taking center stage before the eager audience, the Chief Minister delved into the rich historical tapestry of Bijnor, a land that holds stories dating back thousands of years. He evoked the memories of Mahatma Vidur's sacred meditation place, a spot that also bore witness to the tender childhood of Ganga's son, Bhishma, and the cherished moments when Lord Krishna relished 'sarson ka saag' at the home of Mahatma Vidur, choosing it over Duryodhana's 'Malpua.' To the Chief Minister, Mahatma Vidur symbolized righteousness and the essence of public welfare.
Overflowing with pride and determination, Yogi Adityanath shared that the state's extensive plantation campaign aimed to plant an awe-inspiring 30 crore saplings, setting a new record and a testament to their commitment to environmental preservation.
