Lucknow: The Yogi government has opened the pitara through a supplementary budget ahead of assembly elections in up, the country's largest state. On Thursday, the government presented a supplementary budget of 8,479 crore rupees. The budget also allocates funds for several 24-hour power supply and Kashi Vishwanath Darshan. At the same time, a fund of Rs. 10 crore has also been given to the Sports Department.

Who got what in the Supplementary Budget?
- 10 billion to Power Corporation for 24-hour power supply.
- Rs. 185 crore separately for each home power scheme.
- Rs. 10 crore in supplementary budget to sports department.
- Provision of Rs. 10 crore for Kashi Vishwanath Darshan.
- Rs. 670 crore released for farmer and old age pension.
- 150 crore to information department.
- 10 crore for UP Gaurav Samman.

Why is the Supplementary Budget brought?
Every year the government presents its budget. But if the government starts facing shortage of funds in the meantime, a supplementary budget is brought in. Like the General Budget, the Supplementary Budget has to be presented in the House. Up has assembly elections in the next few months. In such a situation, the government needs funds to implement the schemes and expedite the work of the projects, so it has brought in the budget. This is the second supplementary budget of the Yogi government this year. Earlier in August, the government had presented a supplementary budget of Rs 7,300 crore.

What was there in the first Supplementary Budget?
On August 18, the Yogi government presented this year's first supplementary budget. It was Worth Rs 7,301 crore. Through this budget, the government had staked its claim to complete the development schemes including employment of youth and sugarcane of farmers earlier. In this budget, the government had earmarked a budget of Rs. 3,000 crore for employment. In addition, an additional Rs.100 crore was allocated for Bundelkhand Expressway and Rs.50 crore for Ballia Link Expressway. At the same time, an allocation of Rs.130 crore was made for enhancement of honorarium of ASHA workers and Rs.124 crore for increasing the honorarium of shikshamitras.
