LUCKNOW: CM Yogi Adityanath on Monday expressed concern over the growing population of Uttar Pradesh at a function in Lucknow on the occasion of World Population Day. He said that we have to take care that the population control programme moves forward successfully, but it has to be taken care that demographic imbalances do not arise.
CM Yogi said that it should not happen that the population of any one section is at a faster pace and their percentage is more and those who are natives, their population should be controlled by conducting awareness campaigns. Here, CM Yogi, however, did not name any community, but it is believed that his reference was toward Muslims. CM Yogi further said that in countries where the population is more, the population imbalance is a matter of concern, as it also has an impact on religious demographics. After a while, there is chaos and anarchy, so there is a need to rise above caste, creed, region, and language by efforts for population stabilization and engage with a comprehensive programme of equal awareness in society.
CM Yogi said that in general, a problem before us is that maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate are also high in a particular section. The difference between the two children should not be reduced. He further said that the best efforts toward population stabilization should be taken forward through people's participation and inter-departmental coordination. CM Yogi said that population growth is the biggest obstacle to the development of the country and society. It is the factor of many types of imbalances prevailing in society.
