Lucknow: The ministers of Uttar Pradesh will have to be careful in accepting gifts apart from making public the information about their assets with the family. Ministers will no longer be able to accept gifts worth more than Rs 5000. Gifts worth more than this will have to be deposited in the treasury.
CM Yogi Adityanath has given these orders to his ministers. It is being told that a code of conduct has been provided to the ministers in this regard in writing. It has been said on behalf of CM Yogi that such symbols which give a sense of feudal royalty, such as gold and silver crowns, etc., should not be accepted. Ministers have been asked not to accept gifts worth more than five thousand. Under the Representation of the People Act, standards of public conduct are prescribed for all elected members (including ministers).
Let us inform that even after becoming CM for the first time in the year-2017, Yogi Adityanath had asked the ministers to make their assets public. CM Yogi himself also followed it. Other ministers had to give their information to the then Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal. It is being told that many ministers did not send the details for a long time. Many ministers also argued that in the assembly elections, they have given an affidavit in the Election Commission. Now CM Yogi has expanded the scope of this campaign and has included family members in it.
