At this, the girl's family members beat up the boy. Thereafter, the people of the area who came to hear the noise also beat up the youth. On receiving the information, the police took the boy to the police station. SO Harpal Singh said that the boy's father was called to Tanakpur by the police who reached Tanakpur from Kanpur on Friday. On not receiving the complaint, the police challaned the boy and his father and sent them home.
