The conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region in the capital Lucknow is being held for the first time from Wednesday. Apart from this, improvements in the functioning of the legislature are being discussed in this three-day conference. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has reached the capital to be present in it. The same Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit can be welcomed at Lucknow Airport by wearing a flower garland. Assembly Speaker Hridaynarayan Dixit said that on the first day there is a meeting of the Executive Committee, in which Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will president.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla can inaugurate the conference in the Legislative Assembly Pavilion on January 16 at 11 am on the second day. Members of the cabinet including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can also be present on this occasion. Hridaynarayan Dixit said that there should be no distinction of power and opposition in this conference. With this, the Leader of the House will also get a chance to speak. It is a matter of privilege for Uttar Pradesh, this conference is being organized here. In the same conference to be held in the Legislature Assembly Assembly, the Speaker and Chairman of all the Legislative Assemblies and Legislative Councils of India are attending. This is the 7th conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, India Region to be held in Lucknow. Earlier 6th conference was held in Bihar in February 2018.

In addition, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association was established in the year 1911 as the Empire Parliamentary Association. Its purpose is to exchange parliamentary ideas and information among members of the Commonwealth Parliaments and to promote the advancement of democracy. In the same year 1948, its name has been changed to Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Simultaneously, Principal Secretary Vidhan Sabha Pradeep Dubey has written a letter to the members of both the Houses (Assembly and Legislative Council), urging them to be present at the inauguration ceremony on January 16 from 11 am to 1 pm. Dubey informed that Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha will also participate in the conference. The Speaker of the Legislative Assemblies and the Chairman of the Legislative Councils will also participate. The conference can be concluded by Governor Anandiben Patel.
