Mumbai: Lyricist Javed Akhtar's troubles over comparing RSS and the terror group Taliban seem to be mounting. While an advocate has filed a criminal defamation complaint against him for his statement comparing the Union to the Taliban, another lawyer has also sent a defamation notice, saying he will seek compensation of Rs 100 crore.

Advocate Dhritiman Joshi, who is associated with the Sangh, has filed a complaint against Akhtar in Kurla court. Joshi said he had seen a programme on September 4, which was on the terror group Taliban, in which Javed Akhtar described the Taliban and RSS as the same. In his complaint, Joshi said that the accused (Akhtar) had made this statement deliberately with the scheme to discourage, despise and confuse people who are associated with or are going to join the Sangh.

Apart from Joshi, Santosh Dubey, a Mumbai-based advocate, has also sued lyricist Javed Akhtar. He described Akhtar's remarks as "false and derogatory" and demanded an unconditional apology. Advocate Santosh Dubey has said that if Javed Akhtar does not apologise in writing unconditionally and does not withdraw all his statements within seven days of receiving the notice, he will also file a criminal case against him seeking compensation of Rs 100 crore.
