Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the central government on Saturday on the occasion of Eid prayers on Red Road in Kolkata. Mamta said, 'We will give our lives, but we will not allow the National Register of Citizens (NRC). We don't want riots. We want peace. We do not want to divide the country.'
Mamta further said that those who want to break the country should listen to it: We will give life, but we will not let the country break. May you rest in peace. She said that we are ready to fight the traitorous party agency. CM Mamta said, 'We are ready to fight with the traitor party and the agency, but we are not ready to bow down. There is an election after a year. A man works outside. Everyone should come to India for the 2024 elections. If democracy goes, everyone will go. The Constitution and history are being changed.'
CM Mamta congratulated Eid. CM Mamta and All India General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, Abhishek Banerjee, attended Eid celebrations on Red Road this morning. On that occasion, Mamta Banerjee said, 'Everyone should live in peace. Don't get instigated by anyone. The BJP government is trying to create unrest in Bengal. I will not tolerate unrest in Bengal in any way.'
