New Delhi: The Congress, while demanding an inquiry into Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami's alleged WhatsApp conversation case, said on Wednesday that leaking information related to the country's army and security is treason and will keep the issue in front of everyone in the forthcoming session of Parliament. Senior Congress leaders AK Antony, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid attacked the government over the issue.
The Congress also said that a campaign like Balakote Air Strike is known to some people sitting in high positions in the government and it should be known as to how this intelligence information was leaked. Former defence minister Antony told the press, "These WhatsApp conversations are a matter of concern for the entire country. Every patriotic Indian is shocked because it is a matter of national security. It is related to the security of our armed forces, especially the Air Force soldiers. ’
The Congress leaders said that there may be differences between the common people and political parties of the country on a number of issues, but when it comes to national security, the entire country becomes one. He said, "the national security and very sensitive information was with some people who should not have it. I am deeply saddened by the language that was used about the martyred soldiers. ’
