NEW DELHI: Indian National Congress celebrated its 139th Foundation Day with a fervent commitment to safeguard the Constitution, affirmed by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Asserting an unyielding dedication to upholding democratic values, Kharge emphasized that the Congress remains steadfast in its ideology.

During the commemorative event at the Congress headquarters, Kharge hoisted the party flag, symbolizing the party's unwavering allegiance to its principles. He stressed the significance of sending a resounding message nationwide about the party's unwavering dedication to its foundational beliefs.

Ahead of a rally in Nagpur to inaugurate the 2024 national election campaign, prominent Congress leaders congregated for the flag-hoisting ceremony. Among them was Rahul Gandhi, slated to embark on the Bharat Nyay Yatra covering a staggering 6,200 kilometers from the northeast to the western edge of India starting January 14. Gandhi reiterated the Congress's core values based on truth, non-violence, love, brotherhood, respect, equality, and patriotism in a heartfelt message, expressing pride in being part of such an organization.

Kharge reiterated that the Congress stands as a representative of the people, synonymous with qualities such as struggle, compassion, freedom, justice, and equality. Reflecting on the occasion of Congress Foundation Day, he reaffirmed the party's unwavering commitment to safeguarding India's Constitution and preserving the essence of democracy.
