Jaipur: Former Union Minister and BJP MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Rajasthan. He has accused CM Ashok Gehlot of turning the state into a Taliban. On the Alwar incident, Rathore said, "Rajasthan has been made a Taliban. Our state, which was known for its bravery and women's honour, is now ranked first in women's harassment. The state ranks first in breaking the temple as if running a government for a particular community."

The BJP and Congress are continuing to level allegations about the demolition of two temples during the anti-encroachment drive in Rajgarh town of Alwar district. Rajgarh is a BJP-ruled municipality in the Congress-ruled state. Bjp MP from Alwar Balaknath alleged that a temple idol was also damaged in the action taken earlier this week. Rajasthan Minister Shanti Dhariwal said that the state government is monitoring the matter.

Two temples and some shops were demolished in Rajgarh on Sunday and Monday. The officials termed the action taken to widen a road in the town as an anti-encroachment drive. He said the action was approved by the BJP-ruled Rajgarh Municipal Board and has denied any idol or sanctum sanctorum was damaged in the action.
