April 23,2016:Congress introduced the names of 9 candidates for the upcoming May 2016 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu which it is fighting in grouping with DMK.

According to the released list by the Madhusudan Mistry,who is the Congress general secretary-Nasey R Rajesh will contest in Maduravoyal, Karate R Thiyagarajan from Mylapore, K Selvaperunthagai from Sriperumbudur (SC) and Dr M K Vishnuprasad from Cheyyar.P Gopi has been nominated from Kangayam, Sreeraj Chokkar from Sivakasi, Rani Venkatesan from Srivaikuntam and S Rajeshkumar from Kiliyoor. B Ramachandran from Udhagamandalam.

Before few days Congress had released a list of 33 candidates for the polls.In 234 seats congress allotted 41 seats by DMK.

The Congress-DMK alliance was finalized later than a meeting of senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mukul Wasnik with DMK supremo M Karunanidhi.

Elections will be held in the state on May 16 and results will be out on May 19. .
