Jaipur: Bina Gupta and her son Kuldeep Gupta, head of Alwar municipal council in Rajasthan, have been arrested red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000. Bina Gupta is said to be the special one of cabinet minister Tikaram Juli. Tikaram Julie has recently been promoted from minister of state to cabinet minister. Tikaram's candidate of being a cabinet minister was also opposed in the Congress and many MLAs accused him of being corrupt.
In fact, shops in Alwar were recently auctioned. In which the bid was made by contractor Mohan Lal Suman Singh. It is alleged that Bina Gupta and her son had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.35 lakh as commission. The contractor alleged that the Congress leader then demanded another Rs 80,000. Mohan Lal then complained to the ACB about the mother and son. Acting on the complaint, ACB arrested Bina Gupta and her son for accepting bribes red-handed.
At present, a search is on at Bina Gupta's house. So far, checking has found half a kilo of gold and more than 2 kg of silver. Bank lockers will also be opened today. Bina Gupta said on her arrest that she has been implicated under politics. The BJP city council threw fireworks and expressed happiness.
