Jaipur: Congress is maintaining an atmosphere throughout the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). In states where it has governments, resolutions are being passed by legislatures against it. However, now the names of Rajasthan Assembly Speaker and Senior Congress leader CP Joshi have also been included in the party leaders ridiculing this thinking of the Congress.

He has said bluntly about this law that the state governments have no option to not accept this law of the Center and they will have to implement it in every situation. Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi has said during an event held in Udaipur that 'the Government of India has passed the Citizenship Amendment Act and the state governments will have to implement it. Under the Constitution, citizenship is a matter of the center and not of the state.

Former Union Minister CP Joshi is not alone among the Congress leaders who have reacted impulsively to the Citizenship Act. Earlier, two more senior Congress leaders and Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and Salman Khurshid have also made statements like Joshi, which is different from the official party line of the Congress.
