Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have once again come face-to-face over freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. The Congress has been agitated over the picture of Veer Savarkar in the newly created picture of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. In this case, party leader Deepak Singh has written a letter to chairman Ramesh Yadav terming Savarkar's actions as anti-country.
Deepak Singh has demanded that it be put in the BJP's parliamentary office. Following Deepak Singh's letter, Chairman Ramesh Yadav has asked the Principal Secretary to examine the facts. It may be recalled that a picture of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council has been beautifying recently and a picture of the Vithika has also been installed there. It has pictures of all freedom fighters, revolutionaries. Along with many legends, it includes a portrait of Veer Savarkar.
Unveiling the picture, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath glorified Veer Savarkar and said that Savarkar's personality is of great respect to all countrymen. Congress has objected to this. After putting a picture of Veer Savarkar in the photo gallery, MLC Deepak Singh has written to the Chairman asking him to put a picture of Savarkar among freedom fighters, revolutionaries as an insult to the great men.
