New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has been sweating his blood for the Congress for 50 years, has resigned from the party and announced to form his own party from Jammu and  Kashmir. Meanwhile, Congress may suffer another major setback. In fact, Maharaja Hari Singh's son and Congress leader Karan Singh has said in an interview that he is in Congress, but now he has no contact with the party. His relations with the party have become almost zero.

Karan Singh said in the interview, 'Yes, I am in Congress, but there is no contact. Nobody asks me anything. I do my work myself. My ties with the party are almost nil now. I joined Congress in 1967, but in the last 8-10 years, I have not been in Parliament. I have been removed from the working committee.' Let us tell you that this statement of Karan Singh has come at a time when the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has agreed for a holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh and along with this, the excitement about the upcoming assembly elections in the state has intensified.

Karan Singh had recently written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to declare Maharaja Hari Singh's birth anniversary as a government holiday. He has now thanked PM Narendra Modi for declaring it a holiday.
