Kochi: Congress suffers a big setback ahead of Assembly elections. The veteran leader of the party and PC Chacko, who was in charge of the Delhi Pradesh Congress, has resigned from the Congress party. The veteran leader left Congress alleging that he was being neglected. According to media reports, PC Chacko was angry at the factionalism of the party in Kerala and that is why he left the party. The assembly elections in Kerala have been announced, in such a situation, the exit of PC Chacko from the party in the middle of the elections can be huge for Congress.
Significantly, PC Chacko also resigned from the post of Delhi in-charge of the Congress party last year. After which the Congress Party had to face the biggest defeat so far in the Delhi Assembly elections, the party could not get a single seat and the vote percentage was also reduced. When PC Chacko was asked about this defeat, he had told that in 2013, when Sheila Dikshit used to be the CM of Delhi, the Congress graph in Delhi started falling.
PC Chacko is not believed to have consulted much in the Congress party for the Kerala assembly elections and he was angry because of this and that is why he has resigned from the party.
