Shimla: The Congress has decided to appoint Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. But, even before taking an oath, a controversial statement of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video, Sukhwinder Singh is saying, "In a state where 97 percent are Hindus, we have defeated the Hindutva ideology there.'' Delhi BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga shared the video on Twitter. To which people are reacting fiercely.

In the 11-second video, Congress leader Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is heard telling the media, "In a state where there are 97 percent Hindus, we have defeated the BJP's Hindutva ideology.'' The Congress on Saturday announced Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu's name for the post of Himachal Pradesh chief minister after a meeting of its legislature party. Mukesh Agnihotri has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of the State. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will take oath as the Chief Minister of India at 11 am on Sunday. Even though it is being said that Pratibha Singh has also agreed to Sukhu's name for the post of Chief Minister. But, the battle for supremacy in Himachal Congress has come out openly.

According to reports, a crowd had gathered outside Sisal Hotel in favor of making Pratibha Singh CM amid the legislature party meeting and raised slogans. After sloganeering for some time, the convoy left the hotel. A team of youths supporting Holy Lodge (Pratibha Singh's palace) reached the Congress office Rajiv Bhawan and started raising slogans in support of Pratibha Singh and her son Vikramaditya Singh. In Himachal, youth were demanding that Pratibha Singh be made the Chief Minister. Her supporters chanted slogans like "High command Hosh Me Aao", and "Holy Lodge Satvi Baar".

Actually, Pratibha Singh's husband Virbhadra Singh has been CM of the state 6 times. This time too, the supporters were demanding that CM be made from his own family. Supporters allege that under a well-planned conspiracy, Pratibha Singh was first made the president of the state Congress unit and she was thrown out of the CM's post. Supporters say that votes were sought from the public in the name of the late Virbhadra Singh and now Pratibha Singh has been ignored.
