It may be recalled that RPN Singh had resigned from the Congress on Tuesday. RPN has been a three-time MLA and a one-time MP.

There is talk that RPN Singh's wife Sonia Singh may enter the fray from Padrauna on a BJP ticket. Swami Prasad Maurya is also likely to contest from the same seat. Sources said the BJP may send RPN Singh to the Rajya Sabha.
