New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday held a digital meeting with the party's Lok Sabha members to discuss the country's current political situation and the state of the Corona epidemic. In this meeting, many MPs demanded that Rahul Gandhi should again take over the reins of the party.
According to the information given by sources, in this meeting K. Suresh, Abdul Khalik, Gaurav Gogoi and some other MPs requested Rahul Gandhi to again take command of the party. Apart from these MPs, veteran Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh also said on Friday that now Rahul Gandhi should again take charge of the Congress. In the recent Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had also raised this demand which was supported by many leaders.
The meeting of the Lok Sabha members of Congress also churned out the current political situation in the country, the Corona crisis and the issues to be raised in the upcoming session of Parliament. Sources say that the Congress is planning to surround the Modi government in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament with tensions with China in Ladakh and ways to deal with the Corona crisis.
