Bhopal: Congress MLA Arif Masood from Bhopal capital of Madhya Pradesh has got relief from Jabalpur High Court. The court has approved his anticipatory bail. Masood was accused of inciting religious sentiments and a case has been filed on this charge. He made a speech during a demonstration against France at Iqbal Maidan in Bhopal, his same speech was considered as inflammatory speech. After his speech, a case was filed against him in non-bailable sections.
Now Congress MLA Masood got a big relief from the Jabalpur High Court today. The court has granted him anticipatory bail. Masood had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the court against being made an accused under Section 153A of the IPC and Section 438 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court then reserved its verdict by hearing the petition on 25 November.
The government had registered an FIR against him on November 4 for the inflammatory speech. When the hearing took place, the government said in the court, '29 cases have been registered against Masood so far'. He has instigated religious sentiments through his speech in Bhopal. After all this, Masood approached the High Court for anticipatory bail to avoid arrest.
