New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari on Tuesday told the Lok Sabha in the Lok Sabha that there should be an institutional dialogue with Pakistan on nuclear issues in the backdrop of an accidental fall of an Indian missile into Pakistani territory. Tiwari, Lok Sabha MP from Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, raised the issue during Zero Hour in the House.
The Congress MP said that such facts have also come to the fore that when the missile fell in Pakistani territory, Pakistan was preparing for retaliation. Tiwari said, 'There were many civilian aircraft within the range of this missile and any untoward could have happened. We were lucky that day. Manish Tewari said that this incident gives a solid basis that there should be an institutional dialogue with Pakistan on nuclear issues. According to Tiwari, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had given a statement on this issue in Parliament on March 15 and had told that a Court of Inquiry has been ordered regarding this incident.
The Defense Ministry has reported that a missile was accidentally launched at around 7 pm on March 9 during routine maintenance and inspection of the missile unit. The ministry said the missile has been reported to have landed in an area of ​​Pakistan. Singh had said in the Lok Sabha on March 15 that, 'Though sorry for the incident, we are relieved that no one was hurt in the accident.'
