New Delhi: Final list of Assam NRC has been released. In this, 3 crores 11 lakh 21 thousand 4 people have been considered as citizens of India. While 19 lakh 6 thousand 657 people could not find a place on the list. A total of 30 million people applied for it. After the release of the list of NRC, a meeting of party leaders was held at 10 Janpath, the residence of interim president Sonia Gandhi.

Congress will try its best to surround the government on this issue. Therefore, a strategy can also be made regarding NRC in the meeting. Senior party leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Gaurav Gogoi are also present in this meeting. There is still an opportunity for the 19 lakh people who have not got a place in the NRC list. These people will have to appeal within the forerunners tribunal within 120 days. The Government of Assam will establish 400 Foreigners Tribunals to look into the cases related to those removed from the final list of National Citizenship Register (NRC) in the state.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home Politics) Kumar Sanjay Krishna has said that the process to set up 200 such tribunals is going on and 200 more such tribunals will be set up soon for the interests of those removed from the NRC list. The Foreigners Tribunals are quasi-judicial courts, which hear appeals from those removed from the NRC list.
