Congress reply against ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign with 'Main Bhi Berozgar'

New Delhi: Two weeks after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign ahead of the 2019 general elections, Congress has come up with 'Main Bhi Berozgar' campaign with a video showing how the PM Modi's claims of having created jobs in the country are far from the ground reality. The video contains multiple media clips of people claiming that new jobs avenues during the BJP's rule have decreased. The Congress' Mai Bhi Berozgar' is also a jibe against PM Modi's 'Chowkidar' campaign which he kickstarted with a video showing how all Indians are Chowkidars. On March 31, Prime Minister Modi is set to interact with people of different professions under his ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar Hoon’ program from Delhi's Talkatora stadium.

Here it is to be noted that Congress launched the campaign asserting that 'unemployment' is the most pressing issue of the current times and said that crores of young people have no jobs and no hope under the PM Modi's rule. "Modi can try & distract them with political gimmicks but the youth of India have one thing to say #MainBhiBerozgar," Congress tweeted. Senior BJP leadership, including party president Amit Shah and Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, and the seven MPs of Delhi will be present during the program.

However it is found that Congress has time and again tried to corner the BJP government over the alleged "job crisis" in India. Earlier in the month, Congress had termed PM Modi as "single biggest destroyer of jobs" and had termed the BJP government a "synonym for unemployment."  The issue of unemployment has become Congress's pitch for the general elections after a report in a national daily substantiated their claims revealing that unemployment rate rose to a 45-year high during 2017-2018. The report had cited an official survey carried out by the  National Sample Survey Office's (NSSO) periodic labour force survey (PLFS).

Later, though the report was rebuffed by the Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar, who said that it is "is not finalised and is a draft report", Congress president Rahul Gandhi took a sharp swipe calling PM Modi "Fuhrer", nickname for Adolf Hitler. Rahul alleged that Modi had promised five crore jobs in 2014 but only gave a national disaster.

"NoMo Jobs! The Fuhrer promised us 2 Cr jobs a year. 5 years later, his leaked job creation report card reveals a National Disaster. Unemployment is at its highest in 45 yrs. 6.5 Cr youth are jobless in 2017-18 alone. Time for NoMo2Go," tweeted the Congress president.
