New Delhi: Congress leaders are often known for their devotion to the Gandhi family. From time to time, he reads his praises. In the latest case, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary in the Lok Sabha has said something similar about the family. According to him, this family is a "brand equity". Whoever does not have one, it will be difficult for a person outside the Gandhi-Nehru family to lead the party. Adhir Ranjan said that a "strong"-minded party like the Congress, which has access everywhere, can stop the BJP's "sectarian chariot". "Regional parties are doing things like they will lose their importance in the coming days," he said.

Losing their importance means that the country will move towards bipolar politics. He said, "With the bipolar politics, we can come back to power. So, the future of the Congress is bright. Adhir Ranjan said that regional parties lack ideological motivation and there is widespread support to a national party like the Congress. The Congress leader said Sonia Gandhi did not want to take over the party but after Rahul Gandhi resigned, she accepted the request of senior Congress functionaries to see the organisation in a "crisis".

"Sonia Gandhi took over the reins of the party in times of crisis. It was under his leadership that the Congress had formed the government twice in 2004 and 2009. He said, "It would be really difficult for a person outside the Gandhi family to lead the party. In politics too, there is 'brand equity'. Adhir Ranjan Choudhary is a Lok Sabha MP from Bengal.
