New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statement has been endorsed by the Congress. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said that the Congress is fully with the government on the question of national security and nuclear policy. There is no doubt that the Congress will stand by every decision of the government on the country's security and nuclear weapons policy. The entire country will stand with the Government in this matter.

However, the Defence Minister's statement on nuclear policy is unclear or indicative of the fact that the government is looking at the option of reconsidering the policy of using nuclear weapons. In fact, the Congress said this in the wake of a rethinking of India's policy of "no-fast use" by the Defence Minister for not using nuclear weapons first.

Congress Spokesperson Singhvi said that the issue of nuclear policy is very sensitive and serious and therefore the Defence Minister should clearly inform the country about it. On such a sensitive issue, the Defence Minister should avoid the use of word jugglery. Singhvi said, on behalf of the party, he assures that the Congress will fully support the strategy that the government will formulate on nuclear weapons. Former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has made such statements in the past.
