Hyderabad: An FIR has been registered against former Congress national president and current Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi, who is on a Bharat Jodo Yatra. The FIR has been registered for taking part of the song from the film KGF 2 in the theme song promoting Rahul's journey. MRT company has filed an FIR against Rahul Gandhi. Along with Rahul Gandhi, Supriya Shrinate and Jairam Ramesh have also been named in the case. According to the report, the FIR was registered on Friday (November 4, 2022) in the Yeshwanthpura police station area of Bengaluru.

According to media reports, Bengaluru-based company MRT Music has alleged that Congress has used the song of the film KGF for its political gains. MRT has called it a violation of copyright rules by alleging that permission was not taken for this work. According to the report, the police have registered a case in this regard under sections 403 (dishonesty), 465 (cheating) and 120B (conspiracy), 34 of the IPC and section 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and section 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957. Rahul Gandhi is accused number 3 in this FIR.

In this FIR, Rahul Gandhi and the other two named have been accused of misusing the song 'Falak Tu Garaj Tu' from KGF 2. According to the complaint, this act by Congress has been done with the intention of making an undue profit from the song. Along with this, the complaint has also described the Bharat Jodo Yatra as the brainchild of Rahul Gandhi. The complainant, MRT Music Company, has music rights of more than 20,000 songs in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Tamil etc. The same company also has the music rights of KGF 2, for which MRT has also invested a huge amount. At present, there has been no official reaction from the Congress party in this matter.
