Congress has decided to join the alliance with regional parties in few states and in some states under the political alliance of the coalition, in 2019 elections. The party has indicated the coalition after elections with some parties.

In the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that the party will not allow its interests and ideas to be ignored, but will combine to conserve ideological values in the national interest. Along with the open mind, in order to save democracy in different states, together with old and new parties, the coalition will expand.

Attacking the government in the case of corruption, he said that there is something wrong with the Raphael deal because Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is changing the statements repeatedly. The Congress has drawn the draft of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, including the assembly elections of three states in 2018. CWC has stamped this on. Under this, Rahul is free to make a decision on the coalition alone or by making any commitments.

In the meeting, former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram presented a formula for winning 300 seats in alliance with allies in 2019. Under this, about 150 seats may be available to the Congress and half of the allies are likely to come to the account. Under the formula, if the Congress wins the elections by playing the role of a large party in nearly 12 states, its number of seats will be tripled.

Chidambaram said that in other states, Congress should not be scared to stand behind regional parties. In such a situation, nearly 150 seats will be ensured for allies. The Congress wants to play a key role in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Assam, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and Kerala besides the 2018 assembly elections.
