Dhanbad: A group of Congress workers on Monday allegedly broke the lock of a party office in Dhanbad city, which was sealed on the orders of the High Court in 2011. The police gave this news. The matter happened when the party in-charge of Dhanbad district and Health Minister Banna Gupta reached the Circuit House to hold an official meeting. Police said that some Congress leaders along with the workers reached the party office on Luby Circular Road and broke the seal and entered the building.

When asked about the same matter, Gupta said, "The party has great respect for the orders of the court. I will make an appropriate comment only after reading the order (regarding sealing of the party office)." He also said that both the feelings and the law of the individuals should be respected equally.

On the other hand, Dhanbad district president of Congress Brajendra Pratap Singh said that he has no news about the matter. District Board President Robin Gorai declined to comment on the issue. After a dispute with the District Board, the party office was sealed in April 2011 on the orders of the High Court. According to the information received, the land belongs to the district board and the party had taken it on lease for 30 years which expired several years ago. The matter is going on in the Jharkhand High Court in this regard.
