New Delhi: The Congress continues to attack the government over the rising prices of these funds. Today, the Congress staged protests in different parts of the country. In Mumbai, Congress workers climbed bullock carts to protest against rising fuel prices. In the meantime, the bullock cart broke and the Congress workers fell down. In Dehradun too, Congress workers protested against the rising prices of petrol and diesel.

In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is staging a two-day dharna in Kolkata against rising petrol and diesel prices. State Transport Minister Firhad Hakim said, "Ever since the Modi government came, it has been working against the people. We will continue to demonstrate it until the Modi government regains consciousness." On the other hand, TMC workers staged a dharna against rising petrol and diesel prices by setting fire to bikes and cooking on wooden stoves at Mandirtala Market in Sagar assembly constituency in South-24 Pargan.

In Delhi, retail prices of petrol and diesel rose 35 paise and 26 paise per litre to new heights of Rs 100.91 and Rs 89.88 per litre respectively on Saturday. With this increase, diesel prices are now very close to touching the century mark across the country. Fuel is already more than Rs 100 per litre in some cities of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
