Congress workers protesting to Election Commission in protest over PM Modi's roadshow after casting his vote today, stopped by police outside Sardar Patel Bhawan near Patel Chowk in Delhi. The Prime Minister on Thursday came to a poll booth in Ranip, Ahmedabad as the state votes in phase two of the Gujarat Elections. He was address by hundreds of supporters who were at the polling booth to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. After voting, the Prime Minister walked out of the booth, came out and showed his ink-stained index finger to signal that he had voted. He then walked towards his cavalcade, greeting his supporters before getting on his car. The Congress Party who clearly enclosed the bitter pill with the Election Commission blocking Rahul Gandhi’s interview on Wednesday has now lodged a complaint. Congress feels that the Prime Minister has violated the Model Code of Conduct by walking the distance, — roughly about 100 metres — has campaigned on polling day.

Former Finance minister P Chidambaram In a series of tweets, he has slammed BJP for conducting a campaign on the polling day. He has tweeted out alleging that the EC is sleeping on the job. His tweet reads: ‘The images on TV will leave no one in doubt that the BJP and PM have conducted a full-fledged campaign on polling day. Shocking violation of Rules. EC is sleeping on the job.
