KARNATAKA: The Congress's Karnataka unit has restarted its padayatra to demand that the Mekedatu reservoir project be completed. The padayatra began on Sunday in Bidadi and is anticipated to reach Kengeru by the evening before ending on Thursday in Bengaluru.

Due to the Karnataka Budget session, which begins on March 4, the five-day padayatra has been reduced to three days. The padayatra was attended by Karnataka's opposition leader Siddaramaiah, State Congress chairman DK Shivakumar, and State Council opposition leader BK Hariprasad.

Shivakumar and AICC General Secretary Randeep Surjewala launched the second phase of the Mekedatu padayatra. The padayatra's initial phase was canceled owing to COVID-19's third wave. The padayatra will end on March 3 at the National College Ground in Bengaluru.
