Controversy is growing around the movie 'Adipurush' starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan. In Nepal, this film directed by Om Raut is creating a stir, which led the Mayor of Kathmandu City, Balen Shah, to ban 'Adipurush' and all Hindi movies from screening. However, recent reports stated that the ban on 'Adipurush' and Hindi movies has been lifted by the Nepal court. Nevertheless, it is confirmed that 'Adipurush' will remain banned in Nepal, while the screening of all Hindi movies is allowed.
According to news, on Friday, the screening of Hindi movies has resumed in all theaters in Nepal, except for 'Adipurush,' which has not been screened yet. As a result, Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan-starrer film still face a ban. The Nepal Motion Picture Association has also issued a statement regarding 'Adipurush.'
In their statement, the association mentioned that starting from Friday, screenings of all Nepali and foreign movies will take place, except for 'Adipurush.' Moreover, the movie 'Adipurush,' based on Valmiki's Ramayana, refers to Mother Sita as India's daughter, whereas according to Ramayana, Mother Sita was born in Janakpur, Nepal. The incorrect information about Mother Sita has caused significant opposition to 'Adipurush' in Nepal to the extent that the Mayor of Kathmandu City announced a ban on Hindi films.
